Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) techniques are widely used for determination of long-lived radionuclides and their isotopic ratios in the nuclear fields. Uranium (U) and Plutonium (Pu) isotopes have been determined by many researchers with ICP-MS due to its relatively high sensitivity and short measurement time. In this work, an inter-laboratory comparison exercise among the Nordic countries was performed, focusing on the measurement of U and Pu isotopes in certified reference materials by ICP-MS. The performance and characters of different ICP-MS instruments are evaluated and discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Based on the analysis of UV/Vis-and CD spectra of several cyanine dyes in - and -cyclodextrin a case is made for the aggregation of the dyes into oligomers. The criteria for this new type of aggregates are: (i) the appearance of a concentration and temperature dependent shoulder on the high energy side of the dimer band in the UV/Vis-spectra; (ii) two oppositely signed high intensity CD absorptions, one centered at the shoulder, the other at about the energy of the monomer absorption. Calculations based on coupled-oscillator theory support the contention that chiral dye aggregates are formed in the presence of cyclodextrins, most probably trimers and tetramers. From UV/Vis- and CD-data a helically twisted sandwich structure is suggested for these aggregates. In contrast to the reported inclusion complexes these aggregates must form — at least partly — outside the chiral host.  相似文献

Numerous structurally and enzymatically similar cytochromes P450 (CYPs) are involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics and are present in different amounts and with different enzyme profiles in human tissues and cells. Analysis of their adaptively regulated and individually variable patterns is a peculiar analytical challenge. We developed a laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) based method for concomitant detection and semiquantitative determination of electrophoretically separated and blotted CYPs. The first results are given here for the two enzymes CYP1A1 and CYP2E1. Specific monoclonal antibodies directed against the enzymes were differentially labelled with europium via a covalently linked chelator and with iodine, respectively. Analysis of the modified antibodies shows that both europium and iodine are coupled to the heavy and the light chains of the antibodies. Also, the antibodies maintained their antigen-binding properties after labelling as demonstrated by LA-ICP-MS-analysed immunoblots. The method allowed us to detect specifically and concomitantly both CYP enzymes in complex biological samples, i.e. microsomes of rat liver and minipig duodenum, which are characterized by different levels and proportions of the two CYP enzymes. A strong CYP1A1 signal is found in liver microsomes of 3-methylcholanthrene-treated rats, while it is (nearly) absent in liver microsomes of rats treated with isonocotinic acid hydrazide (isoniazid). The constitutively expressed CYP2E1 is found in microsomes of both treatment groups. Duodenal microsomes of minipigs orally exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons show a clear CYP1A1 signal. Low levels of CYP2E1 can also be detected in these microsomes. The LA-ICP-MS method allows concomitant determination of CYPs, thereby exhibiting sensitivity similar to that of conventional chemoluminescence detection via peroxidase-labelled secondary antibodies. The latter method allows readout of a single CYP protein in a 1D separation. Although the results presented here are only for labelling by use of the elements iodine and europium, the same strategy can be applied also for other lanthanide elements in combination with chelating compounds, so LA-ICP-MS of western blots offers a new capability to be applied for highly multiplexed CYP determinations via labelled antibodies.  相似文献

Trigonal-planar, middle transition metal diiminato-imido complexes do not exhibit high-spin states, as might be naively expected on the basis of their low coordination numbers. Instead, the known Fe(III), Co(III), and Ni(III) complexes exhibit S = 3/2, S = 0, and S = 1/2 ground states, respectively. Kohn-Sham DFT calculations have provided a basic molecular orbital picture of these compounds as well as a qualitative rationale for the observed spin states. Reported herein are ab initio multiconfiguration second-order perturbation theory (CASPT2) calculations, which provide a relatively detailed picture of the d-d excited-state manifolds of these complexes. Thus, for a C(2v) Fe(III)(diiminato)(NPh) model complex, two near-degenerate states ((4)B(2) and (4)B(1)) compete as contenders for the ground state. Moreover, the high-spin sextet, two additional quartets and even a low-spin doublet all occur at <0.5 eV, relative to the ground state. For the Co(III) system, although CASPT2 reproduces an S = 0 ground state, as observed experimentally for a related complex, the calculations also predict two exceedingly low-energy triplet states; there are, however, no other particularly low-energy d-d excited states. In contrast to the Fe(III) and Co(III) cases, the Ni(III) complex has a clearly nondegenerate (2)B(2) ground state. The CASPT2 energetics provide benchmarks against which we can evaluate the performance of several common DFT methods. Although none of the functionals examined perform entirely satisfactorily, the B3LYP hybrid functional provides the best overall spin-state energetics.  相似文献

The radiometric methods, alpha (α)-, beta (β)-, gamma (γ)-spectrometry, and mass spectrometric methods, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, accelerator mass spectrometry, thermal ionization mass spectrometry, resonance ionization mass spectrometry, secondary ion mass spectrometry, and glow discharge mass spectrometry are reviewed for the determination of radionuclides. These methods are critically compared for the determination of long-lived radionuclides important for radiation protection, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, repository of nuclear waste, tracer application in the environmental and biological researches, these radionuclides include 3H, 14C, 36Cl, 41Ca, 59,63Ni, 89,90Sr, 99Tc, 129I, 135,137Cs, 210Pb, 226,228Ra, 237Np, 241Am, and isotopes of thorium, uranium and plutonium. The application of on-line methods (flow injection/sequential injection) for separation of radionuclides and automated determination of radionuclides is also discussed.  相似文献

The coverage dependent formation of ordered structures in vapor deposited 2,4'-bis(terpyridine)derivatives (2,4'-BTP) on (111) oriented Ag films was investigated by STM. Following a two-dimensional (2D) disordered gas phase at lowest coverages, a sequence of at least three ordered structures is observed with increasing coverage. These include a 'parallel chain structure' (PCS), a 'quasi-quadratic network' (QQN) structure, and a 'packed windmill structure' (PWS), with ideal coverages of 0.37, 0.4, and 0.44 molecules nm(-2). At intermediate coverages between 0.37 and 0.44 molecules nm(-2), these structures coexist in larger islands. The energetics of the different phases, whose structures are mainly determined by attractive C-H[dot dot dot]N bridges, are discussed in a picture including C-H[dot dot dot]N and C-H[dot dot dot]H-C interactions and lateral variations in the substrate-adsorbate interactions.  相似文献
